Getting prepared to face counselling for engineering admission

A week before counseling

  • Get the documents in order.
  • Take at least 2 copies of each document.

The student gets to know about the position through the display-college wise, course wise, and community wise. The student should check if all details like name, number, etc. are correct. Please be extra careful as there are colleges in similar names.
On seeing the position on the display, to start with the student can give 3 options. The student is likely to get one of the three options. In some rare cases of not being able to get any three, the student is allowed to go for the next three options.
As per the vacancy and requirement, once the student gets the course and college of his choice, the counselor asks for a confirmation from the student.
Then the students are collected in the separate hall and an admission order are made out on their name.

Find out the subjects which an engineering stream offers.

Computer science engineering and electronics & communication engineering are the first branches that get filled during counseling.

But why is it so? I see one simple reason as – You would be eligible for the majority of companies coming for campus placements as both the branches involve a significant part of their subjects in computer science.

Computer Science Engineering

If you choose this engineering course after 12th, you will be dealing with subjects of programming languages, data structures, website and app development, etc.

Let’s accept the fact, we are living in a digital age, and each and every company now requires a computer professional. Hence, there are a lot of jobs available in this field.

But having job opportunities in excess also has its cons. The total number of software jobs sourced from India are involved in labor-intensive jobs such as software testing, data entry, etc.
